# BrightQuery Docs

> BrightQuery (BQ) is a government-verified business intelligence platform covering 84 million U.S. organizations. This documentation is for data engineers, financial analysts, compliance teams, and developers who need to integrate BQ's REST APIs, bulk data feeds, and data dictionaries into their applications and workflows. BrightQuery's data universe is built around five foundational pillars of the economy: **Organizations**, **Legal Entities**, **Locations**, **Addresses**, and **People**. All data is sourced from over 100,000 U.S. government agencies including IRS, Department of Labor, Secretary of State offices, and USPS. The unique `bq_id` identifier links records across all datasets.
